BEFORE YOU GO:
2007
Before you go to Madagascar you'll need to prepare a few things. First there's the agreement to be a volunteer - straight forward to complete and available on this site to download. Once that formality is completed there's your kit to consider - again we've put together some essentials though feel free to add as you see fit. Following the preparity stage you then need to get flights. If you're planning to go with a friend - try to book together the same dates - and remember the flights leave from Paris - so you need to factor in getting to Paris. A document provided on the 'main' volunteer page will give you some ideas of where to go and how much it costs.
Once your ready you're going to then need a visa. We've explained in a document all you need to know and there's link here for the Madagasar Embassy in London
Then once you've got you're visa there's the vaccinations - nothing too horrible - but worth having - also worth getting advice on anti-malarial medicines from your GP. Once you've got the jabs and pills - insurance is required - and you'll sleep sounder knowing you've got it.
If we've forgotten anything then please let us know - and equally we've put a document together called 'Last minute Things' - so you can check you've got everything covered.
