DO BEFORE YOU GO:
Before you head off to Madagascar there's a few things you should know. We've put together some 'easy to download' documents that cover most areas relating to the volunteer programme covering English teaching and the essential reading of Health and Safety and our Code of Conduct document which gives tips, advice and guidelines of what to Do and Do not Do in Madagascar.
By checking out these documents before you go, and having visited the rest of the volunteers section, you should have enough time to prepare yourself and still have time to ask any questions.
We're here to help you get the best out of your volunteering experience in Madagascar. Your contribution through the Dodwell Trust volunteer program will make a big difference in the lives of the Malagasy people.
Once your ready you're going to then need a visa. Standard 30 day and 90 day visas available at the airport and for extendable 30 day visas you need to apply through the Madagascar Embassy in Paris - link here for the Madagasar Embassy in Paris
Then once you've sorted out which length of visa you need- there's the vaccinations - nothing too horrible - but worth having - also worth getting advice on anti-malarial medicines from your GP. Once you've got the jabs and pills - insurance is required - and you'll sleep sounder knowing you've got it.
If we've forgotten anything then please let us know - and equally we've put a document together called 'Last minute Things' - so you can check you've got everything covered.
