Our Horse Safari local guide, Harison Ramanantsoa, is a qualified vet living on a small farm at Vakinankaratra village near Antsirabe with his wife, children and horses.
 
Harisons father and grandfather were breeders of riding horses and local racehorses, winning many prizes. Harison rode as a jockey in his youth and now prefers to compete as a Gentleman Rider (GENTRIVAC). He speaks a little English, plus fluent French and Malagasy. A few years ago he wrote a book in English, to set out his knowledge and love of horses.
 
His horses are available for hire for riding in the beautiful countryside around his farm. Please contact him direct if you cannot join our next Horse Safari but you would like to go riding in Madagascar. He can meet clients at airport on arrival and organise bookings for hotels etc. He offers Horse riding holidays, and combinations of riding, canoeing and vehicle hire. He also gives training in competition riding and jockey training.
 
As our riding guide, his sense of direction was flawless, his care of both the horses and riders was outstanding, and his quiet poetic nature made him a charming companion.
